Labour plugs in to EV jobs

-

LABOUR will today unveil plans to create 30,000 new jobs in the electric vehicle industry.

It wants to subsidise three gigafactories, which make batteries for the cars.

Shadow Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds says Britain is in danger of falling behind Europe as it fails to invest in EV battery production.

Labour would also offer interest-free loans on cars.

Mr Reynolds said: “Our plans will… create jobs and help achieve net zero.”
