Cancer survivor Holly’s heroic 600-mile journey

-

A FORMER child cancer patient has completed a 600-mile bike ride, raising more than £1,000 for the charity that helped her recover.

Holly Hudson was treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia when she was 13. She is now 21.

The student decided to pedal 600 miles from Largs in Scotland to Cowes on the Isle of Wight in eight days to raise funds for the Ellen MacArthur

Cancer Trust. Holly, who now volunteers at the charity, managed to cover up to 80 miles each day.

Lincoln University student Holly, from Tilton on the Hill, Leics, said: “What kept me motivated was knowing I was going to help people like me.

“I struggled to socialise after treatment but the Trust brought normality back to my life and allowed me to find the confidence in myself again.”
