Norrie’s Sunday service
BY TOM HOPKINSON
CAM NORRIE wants Wimbledon fans to stock up on strawberries and cream and then get behind him on a historic day at the All England Club.
Today heralds the fulltime introduction of middle Sunday tennis here in SW19 when in previous years it has always been a rest day.
While the British No.1 is delighted to be marking it with his first experience of the second week, he is making no secret of the fact he is going all out to be here on the second Sunday – Men’s Final day – too.
Norrie, who faces a fourth-round clash with American Tommy Paul, said: “It’s a great day to be a tennis fan — another day on the weekend when people are not working to come out and watch some tennis, get some strawberries and cream and enjoy them at Wimbledon.
“There’s a long way to go, but I’d like to go and win it all, that’s the goal.
“Making the second week was a nice box to tick for me.”
