LAMPS FIGHTS FOR ADAMS
BY TOM HOPKINSON EVERTON are battling Leeds to take RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams on loan.
The USA international is wanted at Elland Road as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Kalvin Phillips.
But Toffees boss
Frank Lampard is keen to bolster his squad after last season’s relegation fight and Adams’ versatility is a major draw.
As well as playing as a holding midfielder, the 23-year-old can operate further forward, too.
Adams started only 12 league games for Leipzig last season and could be tempted with a move to the Premier
League to gain more regular game time ahead of the World Cup.
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch knows Adams well from their times together at New York Red Bull and Leipzig.
But Everton’s interest means that Marsch does not have a free run at landing the player this summer.
