Roo in no mood to rush back

- BY JOHN RICHARDSON

WAYNE ROONEY is enjoying his first break from professional football since he announced his arrival as a precocious 16-year-old for Everton.

And those close to the 36-year-old insist he is in no rush to come back.

There have already been offers of a swift return to management, but a friend said: “Wayne loves spending more time with the family and isn’t considering anything right now.

“Once his batteries are recharged, there are bound to be jobs coming up, and if the right one arises I’m sure Wayne would consider it.”

For now, there seems a better chance of Rooney being employed as a TV pundit after impressing on Sky Sport’s Monday Night Football with Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.

That would not interfere with his determination to be a family man over the coming few months.

He is also preparing to complete his pro-licence coaching course and broaden his football knowledge by visiting clubs at home and abroad.
