RACHEL BROWN-FINNIS’S THREE TO WATCH

-

LAUREN HEMP (England, left)

It is set up for her. She is humble, can play off the right or left. Charismatic on the pitch, you can see her character, confidence and drive. Very quick off the mark over the first 10 yards. She has been a rich source of goals for Ellen White at Manchester City. There is no reason why she cannot replicate that for the Lionesses.

ALEXIA PUTELLAS (Spain)

Attacking midfielder and skipper. She is the major cog in that Spanish team and why people are fearful of them. At the peak of her powers with Barcelona and was the recipient of the Ballon d’Or. She is possibly the best in the world at the moment. If Spain do well, Alexia will be at the heart of everything.

WENDIE RENARD (France)

The elegant centre-back captains both Lyon and her country. Tall, athletic, tough, classy, there isn’t much she hasn’t won for her club. Two months ago Lyon again won the Champions League. But she has still to lift a major trophy for Les Bleues.
