KEIR Starmer today challenges the rattled Tories to call a General Election NOW.

The Labour leader accuses PM Boris Johnson of “squatting in Downing Street” while squabbling colleagues jostle to replace him.

Writing exclusively in the Sunday Mirror, Sir Keir says: “Changing the person at the top isn’t going to clean out the rotten culture from throughout their party. Only by booting out the lot of them will Britain get the fresh start it needs.

“That’s why we need a General Election now. My message to the Tories is simple: Bring it on.”

Yesterday Defence Secretary Ben Wallace pulled out of the leadership race, while Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi and Transport Secretary Grant Shapps joined the fray. Rishi Sunak is the bookies’ favourite.
