Respect paid to murdered ex-Japan PM
A HEARSE carrying the coffin of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived at his home in Tokyo yesterday.
He was shot dead on Friday morning while speaking at a political campaign event in the southern city of Nara.
Police investigating his assassination have said the suspect held a grudge against a “specific organisation”.
They said the alleged gunman, Tetsuya Yamagami, 41, believed Abe was part of it.
Yamagami has admitted shooting the politician with a homemade gun.
Members of Abe’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party lined up outside his home to pay their respects.
His funeral is scheduled for Tuesday.
