Faulkner turns on the pedal power

KRISTEN FAULKNER won the final mountain stage of the Giro d’Italia Donne.

The American went on the attack with Italy’s Gaia Realini on the Fai della Paganella and did not look back.

Over three hard climbs on the ninth stage, the Team BikeExchangeJayco rider (above) picked up mountain points throughout the day to lead the mountain classification.

She said: “I wanted to put it all out for the team.”
