Spurs aim for Oscar

- BY CHRIS HATHERALL

TOTTENHAM are in the race to sign an Israeli wonderkid likened in his country to former West Ham, Liverpool and Chelsea attacking midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

Oscar Gloukh, 18, is making waves at Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Benayoun style and is valued at £10million all-in.

Spurs have sent scouts to watch him play and are one of several European clubs to make early contact about a transfer.

No agreement has been reached. Roma, Borussia Dortmund, Rangers, and Ajax are also interested.

But Spurs believe they are front of the queue for the Israel Under-21 star, who made his Maccabi debut in March.
