Family see boy, 3, killed by a tractor

A BOY aged three died yesterday after he was hit by a tractor.

His frantic family flagged a passing ambulance down to rush him to hospital.

But the lad was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene

The incident took place at Tottington near Bury, Greater Manchester.

The driver of the tractor is assisting officers with their enquiries while police investigators work alongside the Health and Safety Executive to find out why it happened.

Specialist officers are supporting the family of the boy, who has not been named. Chief Insp Ian Partington said: “This is a heartbreaking incident.”
