Tom cruises to a £120m film payday
TOP Gun: Maverick had earned £1billion by Friday – and its star Tom Cruise is believed to get a 12% cut worth £120million.
The sequel to 1986 film Top Gun has been in cinemas for two months after superstar Cruise, 59, refused to let it be streamed on TV.
Half of revenues have come from the US but the film has also earned £70million in Britain.
Marketing agency PRrppd said: “It’s no understatement to say Tom Cruise is the biggest box office draw on the planet.”
