“Adele would be pretty good. She has a lot of heartbreak songs, but I’m sure she can put a spin on some of them.
“It would be very expensive to book JLS. Maybe there will be a couple of tunes if I can persuade them to jump on the mic. Karaoke is a must at a wedding – when everyone is absolutely battered.” The couple got engaged in 2017. Aston says getting married “feels like the easiest thing”. But, right now, during the lead-up to the big day, he’s focusing on his own solo career, which is going from strength to strength.
He’s just released brilliant new single How Many Times, which is a love song with a twist – inspired by a passionate argument, even though he admits his life is chilled these days and he rarely argues.
Having just finished a reunion tour with JLS, he says he’s missing all the banter with the boys.
“Going solo has been a learning process and not too bad a transition at all,” he says.
“But I do miss them... all those little things you find hilarious.”
