I got sunstroke this week for the first time ever. Hopefully, you can learn from my experience.
I’d been rushing around getting ready for a party in my garden. Of course, I had a few glasses of bubbly and we all had a merry time in the glorious sunshine.
The next day, I was feeling pretty exhausted and so lay in the sun for a bit. But the heat was very intense and I was dehydrated from the alcohol the day before, and didn’t realise I was putting myself in danger.
A few hours later my core body temperature soared, I had a banging headache, I felt weak and could hardly speak.
I went straight to bed after a cold shower, and drank litres of water. Luckily, the next day I felt much better.
But do beware in this heat – sunstroke can even be fatal.
