TECHIES are getting their kicks in RoboCup – a football contest for robots.
Some 3,000 competitors from 40 countries have been battling it out in Thai capital Bangkok. Wags were quick to point out the automatons resembled ex-Stoke and England striker Peter
Crouch, 41 – famed for his robot dance goal celebration. Off-field controllers operate the robots as they kick, pass and shoot. But, unlike 6ft 7in Crouch, left, they possess no aerial ability. The
tournament looked to be going down to the wire.
And a tip for the score in today’s final: R2-D2 3, K9 4.
