Raz bidding to be Top dog at Donny

REIGNING World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu is gunning for two more wins today after demolishing the opposition at Donington Park yesterday.

The Turkish rider (above) won the first race at the UK’s only round of the season by 6.397 seconds over six-time champ Jonathan Rea, with the second Kawasaki of Alex Lowes third.

Razgatlioglu’s Pata Yamaha blasted off the line into the lead and was never challenged again. And with two more races today, Razgatlioglu is planning for his first hat-trick.

He said: “I’m very happy for this race win but the weekend is not over, there are two more races and my dream now is to win three in a race weekend. This weekend we will try.”

Rea admitted that he had no answer to his rival yesterday but will be looking to make amends.

The Northern Irish racer said: “We have some improvements and a different strategy – so we’ll try to be a little closer.”
