Vic grabs a Worldy

- BY JULIE STOTT

AUSSIE star Victor Radley has been included in Shaun Wane’s England plans for this year’s World Cup.

The Sydney Roosters loose forward, who has won two NRL Grand Finals, qualifies for England through his Sheffield-born dad.

Radley said: “I’ve always wanted to play for England for my old man. Dad’s proud of where he’s from, proud of his family, proud of supporting Sheffield Wednesday.

“With the World Cup coming up in England at the end of this year, it was now or never.

“If I ended up watching the World Cup, knowing I could have been playing for England, that wouldn’t have felt good.”

Wane said: “I’m open to selecting players who want to represent their English heritage... I rate Victor Radley very highly.”
