Body found in heatwave swim tragedy
A BODY was found yesterday five days after a swimmer was lost at sea during the heatwave.
It is believed to be of a 21-year-old man who disappeared off Clacton seafront on Tuesday.
He was one of six people who got into difficulty while bathing near the pier on Britain’s hottest day.
Four men and a woman were taken to Colchester General Hospital and have since been discharged.
Coastguards had been searching for the 21-yearold until early yesterday morning when a body was found in Jaywick.
Essex Police are working to contact the man’s next of kin.
