Lenny: It’s a thrill to hold games torch
SIR Lenny Henry will carry the Queen’s Baton as part of the prestigious relay ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
He will take it through Birmingham’s Victoria Square on Wednesday evening towards the end of its 294-day journey via all 72 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.
The Comic Relief co-founder, 63, is celebrating Sport Relief being an official charity partner of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Sir Lenny said: “The chance to carry the Queen’s Baton on the final leg of its journey fills me with massive pride, especially when I think of how far it’s travelled.”
The games start on Thursday and last until August 8.
