600-mile parliaments trek for suicide awareness dads

THREE dads who raised almost £1million for a suicide charity after losing their daughters have a new trek – a 600mile walk between the UK parliaments.

Andy Airey, Mike Palmer and Tim Owen will visit Stormont in Belfast on September 9, then head to Holyrood in Edinburgh, for World Suicide Prevention Day on September

Senedd in Cardiff and on to Westminster on October 10, World Mental Health Day.

The trio – known as 3 Dads Walking – are from Morland, Cumbria, Sale in Gtr Manchester and Shouldham, in Norfolk, respectively.

They want age-appropriate lessons on suicide awareness. Tim said: “Over 200 schoolchildren every year die by suicide. Talking about it will save lives.”
