Vitamin D safety

-

While many of us are deficient in vitamin D, we need to take care with supplements.

“Taking too much vitamin D is a real risk, especially over a long period,” says nurse Eileen Flatley (conceptoclinic.co.uk).

“An overdose can cause serious damage to your heart and kidneys, as well as weaken your bones.”

It is included in many collagen supplements and cereals, so don’t double up. The recommended daily dose is 10 micrograms – taking more than 100■■micrograms can begin to be harmful.
