Ajax: Hands off £70m Ant

-

EXCLUSIVE BY STEVE BATES MANCHESTER UNITED have been publicly warned off pursuing Ajax wing-star Antony – with the Dutch champions furious at Erik ten Hag’s asset-stripping.

Ajax fought hard, but failed to stop Argentinian defender Lisandro Martinez completing a £51.6million move to Old Trafford a week ago.

And furious sporting director Gerry Hamstra has told United to stay away from £70m-rated Antony (below), 22. He said: “I know some of our players are still targeted and they are trying to pull them away. But we are keeping the squad we have left.

“Nobody is going anywhere now. We have made it clear to the players, we have had big talks with the players who have a strong desire to leave the club at this moment. We still have massive ambitions at Ajax. We can’t afford to let go of six key players.”

As well as Martinez, Ajax have already lost top scorer Sebastien Haller plus Noussair Mazraoui, Ryan Gravenberch and Nico Tagliafico.
