Drake helped me hit brake

-

Adele had a secret man in her life helping her through the trauma of cancelling her Vegas shows – and not boyfriend Rich Paul. I can reveal the superstar leaned on musician Drake as she battled the fallout from January’s drama.

The pair had a string of heart-to-hearts when Adele quit just 24 hours before the opening night of her Caesars Palace residency.

I’m told basketball agent Rich is far from jealous – and “adores” the fact rap king Drake is offering his support.

Sources say the Rolling in the Deep singer used Drake as an “independent sounding board”. My news comes as Adele praised her man Rich in an Elle mag interview for being at her side emotionally.

The star’s rescheduled shows are set to kick off in November, with an extra eight dates. A Caesars Palace source reveals: “Adele was steadied and assured by Drake to bounce back bigger and better.

“Rich is friends with Drake, so he was backing her all the way to spend as long as she needed to on calls and Facetimes. They feel now it has paid off. Don’t be surprised if she thanks Drake on stage during her run.”

Adele has said of her bond with Drake: “I know lots of people that are well known, but I am not close with any of the others who came up at the same time as me and know what it is like to be at that level. It is a real gift for me, our friendship.”

Drake was one of the first people to hear Adele’s album, 30, released last November. He has just landed his own Vegas residency at popular club XS, set to bank him more than £8million.
