HULL striker Oscar Estupinan’s stunning run of scoring form has caught even his boss Shota Arveladze by surprise.

The Colombian’s first hat-trick in England proved enough to see off Coventry, who struck back with two Matt Godden goals.

Estupinan has hit seven goals since he arrived from Portuguese club Vitoria de Guimaraes last month.

His treble lifted Hull to third in the Championship and Arveladze said: “I didn’t expect seven goals in six games but his touch is always there, even in the training sessions.

“He just nips in front, gets the touch and he’s in.

“And he always goes for the bad balls as well as the good ones. The boys put more balls into the area because they know he will dominate the defenders.

“I hope he keeps going and gives himself more and more good feelings.”

His first came after Lewie Coyle’s cross-shot eluded Simon Moore but Godden levelled with a penalty after Tobias Figueiredo fouled Kasey Palmer.

Keeper Moore then fumbled another Coyle cross under pressure from

Estupinan, who forced the loose ball into the net, and he completed his hat-trick when Benjamin Tetteh diverted into his path.

Godden turned in his second from Martyn Waghorn’s corner but boss Mark Robins said: “The three goals we conceded were terrible. And we can’t give goals away like that.”
