Search for Moors Murders Keith fails to find remains
POLICE continuing their search for Moors Murders victim Keith Bennett yesterday said they had “not found any identifiable human remains” so far.
Forensic officers spent a second day on Saddleworth Moor following the reported discovery of human remains by an amateur sleuth.
Twelve-year-old Keith was one of five youngsters killed by
Ian Brady and his partner Myra
Hindley in the 1960s. He disappeared on June 16, 1964, on his way to his grandmother’s house in Chorlton-onMedlock, Manchester.
Crime author Russell Edwards contacted police after finding what he believed to be skeletal and clothing fragments when he was excavating a location.
Yesterday, Cheryl Hughes, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “Our work to excavate the site
is continuing.”
