Yungblud: I’m ever so eager for Bieber

Pop-punker has a bit of a thing for Harry Styles too

-

Rising pop-punker

reveals that he’s got the hots for fellow singer Justin Bieber.

Yungblud

The colourful bisexual rocker – number one in the charts with his third self-titled album – says he’s also got a thing for former One Direction star Harry Styles, 28.

“I love Justin Bieber – I think he is gorgeous,” Yungblud, real name Dominic Harrison, tells me.

Justin, 28, is married of course and Yungblud adds cheekily: “I would definitely kiss him – although I’m not sure he would want to kiss me. I think he’s beautiful.

“I also think [Harry and I] would get on. I love what he’s doing.

“I see some similarities, except I am naughty and he is nice. He has built a community based on love as well. He is a lot more colourful than me. He’s a lot more rainbows and cheese but, you know what, I am into it. I think he is beautiful. I’m down for a bit of Harry.”

Talking about his music, he says his new album is the “purest” he’s done. He adds: “It

is proper neat whiskey, no

mixer, no ice. It hits you straight at the back of your throat.

“That’s why I self-titled it because I feel it is my most authentic album so far.”

The 25-year-old, from Doncaster, South Yorks, is admired by rock legends Sir Mick Jagger and Ozzy Osbourne – and is hoping for a collaboration with American singer Miley Cyrus.

But first he wants to “destroy the pedestal of a pop star”. He explains: “I want to destroy what it means to play by the rules. I want to stand for truth and connection and beautiful expression. I want people to be free to be themselves.

“I feel there is so much in the world, yet everyone is searching for love. If you had said that to me at 19 I would have said it was clichéd b ***** ks, but it’s true.”

He says early criticism of his image and music hurt, adding: “At first it got to me but I f***ing love kicking the bear to be honest.

“It reminded me of being that 15-yearold from Doncaster who was misunderstood. That was the whole reason I created Yungblud. A life and a career without risk and opinion means you have been forgotten or you are boring and I’m not here to do that.”

But the singer, who once hoped to be an archaeologist, is proud of being from “up north”.

He says: “I love Donny. I am so proud to be from the north. I love my local chip shop. I really miss it. I travel the world but I miss my fish and chips. I’m so British.

“I love pints of lager, cigarettes in the rain, rubbish Channel 4 documentaries and sitcoms.

“I pack my suitcase with chocolate Hobnobs, Yorkshire tea and Wotsits. I live off Wotsit sandwiches when I’m wideawake jetlagged.”

’Blud-dy hell, Dominic!
