‘Tax top 1% to insulate our homes’

THE very rich should be taxed to insulate people’s homes, the Green Party said yesterday.

Co-leaders Adrian Ramsay and Carla Denyer outlined a £75billion tax package aimed at polluters and the top 1% of earners.

The cash would also be used to fund a renewable energy programme.

And Mr Ramsay said it would help to “make society more equal” after the mini-budget caused “economic chaos”.

He added: “Rich people are getting richer and everyone else is getting poorer... and the new Prime Minister is doing everything she can to maintain that status quo.”
