Meat steaks its claim as world’s best

-

A JAPANESE wagyu steak was crowned World’s Best at the 2022 World Steak Challenge awards.

The cut of beef, which also won best sirloin and best grain-fed steak, was sourced from a 30-monthold cow by Starzen Co.

Judges at the event held at the Fire Steakhouse & Bar in Dublin hailed it as a “clear cut above the rest”, trade magazine The Grocer reported.

Wagyu steaks are prized for having high levels of healthy monosaturated fat which adds flavour, plus omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.

The top steak’s cow was raised in Kagoshima region in Japan’s southern tip, which is wet and warm.
