Protect your kids by giving them the jab
I’ve always made it a priority to get my kids properly vaccinated, so I was shocked to learn that many parents are not taking part in the childhood vaccinations programme.
The World Health Organisation has set a 95% take-up target of vaccines to protect the population from diseases such as measles, polio and typhoid.
But according to NHS England, take-up for the MMR jab for one-yearolds plummeted to 89.2% from 92.7% in 2013-14.
Currently, there are 740,000 children aged one to six in England who are not protected against measles, which can lead to pneumonia and brain inflammation.
I urge parents to ignore the anti-vaxxers and get their children jabbed – to keep them and all of us safe.
