Morning host Holly braved a storm over queuejumping to see the Queen lying in state.
Olivia had a stint on ITV reality sports contest The
Games this spring and went on to host a serious documentary about sex site OnlyFans.
Now chiefs reckon she could soar to the level of departing
Love Island host
Laura Whitmore and eventually follow in Holly’s footsteps with the biggest jobs.
An insider told the Sunday Mirror:
“Olivia is one to watch. Like Holly and Laura, Olivia is another jewel in the network’s presenters crown and has the magic chemistry and ability. It’s far too early to say, but there has been whispers about Olivia as a potential choice to present Love Island.”
They added there were approving nods from top brass over July’s documentary Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich – likened to shows by BBC rival Stacey Dooley.
The source said: “There is a huge appetite for these shows with viewers – it performed well – and even though it was uncharted territory for her, Olivia did brilliantly with it. “Everybody loved working with her, she works very hard, is bright, articulate, engaging, popular with viewers, and is a natural on camera.”
Bosses are now understood to be considering Olivia’s next step.
More than 50,000 signed a petition calling for the axe for Holly and co-presenter Phillip Schofield over alleged queue jumping when the Queen was lying in state. They said they had done nothing wrong and were working for the show. Last week ITV bosses said the duo’s jobs were safe.
