Frank’s heading forward

-

FRANK LAMPARD warned his Everton players not to slow down after securing back-to-back Premier League wins.

Following on from their maiden victory over West Ham, the Toffees won again at St Mary’s.

It’s now six games unbeaten and boss Lampard (below) said: “The minute we rest is our downfall – it’s important we realise there is a long way for us to go.

“We can get much better than how we played here. There are glimpses, there were big glimpses against West Ham in our last game.

“There’s a nice competitive feel to the squad.”

Everton came from behind as Conor Coady and Dwight McNeil quickly cancelled out Joe Aribo’s opener.

It was only Everton’s second league away win of 2022 and unlikely hero

Coady said: “First half we played really well but lacked a bit of a ruthless edge. I thought we deserved the three points as we were fantastic bar that little spell.”

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “We never stopped playing or trying and we had some good ideas to create things. The effort was there but that alone is not enough.

“You need to have the quality to score in the right moments.”
