Wycombe 0 Plymouth 1

-

SAM COSGROVE’S early penalty extended leaders Plymouth’s unbeaten run to seven matches.

But the visitors had to thank keeper Michael Cooper for maintaining their position at the top of the table.

Cooper denied Sam Vokes, Chris Forino-Joseph and Anis Mehmeti to keep Wycombe at bay. Plymouth boss Steven Schumacher said: “Michael made two great saves in the first half. Thankfully we showed one bit of quality to secure a brilliant win.”

Gareth Ainsworth was left to reflect on his side’s third straight defeat. “Their keeper has made some amazing saves,” he said.

“You could be harsh and say you need to stick those in but it was tough to beat him.

“I’ve said to the boys that if they perform like that we will be absolutely fine.”
