THE BBC has trademarked the Strictly Come Dancing name and Glitterball logo to use on a range of goods, including a spin-off wine.
The Beeb may franchise the deal to a third party to make and sell the plonk.
A source said: “This could be a huge money-spinner.”
The Corporation has a commercial arm with dedicated online shops selling goods tied to its shows.
Paperwork says the Strictly licence covers “alcoholic beverages, wines, sparkling wines” among other items.
The application was rubber stamped by the Government’s Intellectual Property Office and puts legal protection in place for a decade.
