Bang banged up inmates in curry lessons
INMATES swapped porridge for chicken katsu curry after a masterclass by Wagamama chefs.
The Ministry of Justice initiative gave 15 prisoners at HMP Hatfield near Doncaster, Yorks, experience in a pro kitchen.
Together with four chefs, they served 250 classics including yasai katsu and bang bang cauliflower to fellow inmates.
The aim was to fuel their ambitions of working in the hospitality industry once they are freed.
Wagamama will offer roles to prisoners out on licence. A spokesman said: “We strongly believe in second chances.
“We all need to give everyone an equal opportunity of meaningful work.
“Your past should never define your future.”
