‘Give back our goats’

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

Goats have been stolen from a petting zoo amid fears that the cost of living crisis is forcing desperate people to steal livestock for meat. All seven rescue animals were taken from Kew Little Pigs in Amersham, Bucks, in what appears to have been a highly organised raid.

It comes as owner Olivia Mikhail,38, reveals how she has received several calls over the past month from people asking to buy her animals for slaughter.

“Of course we said no,” she says. “None of our animals would ever be sold for meat. I am absolutely petrified that they will be killed for meat.

“They are part of our family and I can’t stop thinking about what might be happening to them. These are tame pet goats.

“We take security incredibly seriously so this is obviously a planned raid by someone who has come and seen what measures we have in place.

“If anyone knows where they are please, please get in touch. We just want them home.”
