I THINK there’s only one course of action left open to Cristiano Ronaldo – and that is to get out of Manchester United as soon as possible.

And I say that with all the respect to one of the better players who’s ever lived. I think that’s the point. He will believe, rightly, he can still do it at the top level, can still score the goals he was brought in to score for United.

And I know, too, for a fact that he will believe he should be starting every week.

I know because I’ve been there myself. I’ve had times in my career that I knew I was better than some players who were getting games ahead of me.
