Gers surge back to help boss Gio

-

RANGERS came from behind to thump Aberdeen 4-1 and ease the pressure building on Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Connor Barron fired Aberdeen ahead at Ibrox against a Rangers side who had been booed off in their previous two home games.

But Antonio Colak and John Lundstram struck as the Gers roared back.

James Tavernier added a third and then missed a penalty before Alfredo Morelos sealed the win.

Gers boss Van Bronckhorst (above) said: “I’m really pleased with the performance. The crowd was with us the whole game. I expect that level of performance every game we play.

“Even after the goal against us, we showed the desire to go forward and create chances, really aggressive and positive.

“It gives us confidence. Aberdeen were in good form but we didn’t give them any chance.”

Elsewhere, 10-man Dundee United are now bottom after losing 1-0 to Motherwell. Hibs beat St Mirren 3-0 while St Johnstone edged Kilmarnock 1-0.
