‘Carrick should get 40yrs... he must not ruin yet more lives’
A WEEPING mum today reveals her hell at the hands of police rapist David Carrick and urges a judge: “Lock him up for 40 years.”
Darciane Nunes Da Silva, 43, suffered unimaginable abuse during a five-month relationship with the serial sex offender.
Carrick’s behaviour was so vile it cannot be reported in full.
But on the eve of his two-day sentencing hearing, we can reveal he:
Slapped Darciane violently, throttled her, pushed her and told her she was “fat and ugly”.
Made her his sex slave, controlled what she ate, when she could use her phone and spied on her using hidden cameras.
Made Darciane go to sleep by 6pm – while he watched violent porn and texted other women.
Punished her by releasing his pet snakes, leaving her cowering on the sofa.
Carrick, 48, pleaded guilty last month to 85 offences. They involved 48 rapes against 12 women – including Darciane – over two decades. Waiving her anonymity, carer Darciane told the Sunday Mirror: “I would like him to get 40 years in jail. That would be fair because I know some of his victims lost 20 years because of what he did.
“I don’t believe he can ever change and I worry that if he gets out he will hurt someone else. But I hope by then he will be so old he won’t be able to.”
Darciane – Carrick’s only victim to publicly identify herself – believes there are “many more” victims yet to come forward.
She added: “I’m speaking out because I want everyone to know what he did to me.
“He tried to destroy me as a woman. I advise anyone who hasn’t come forward yet to do so. It isn’t easy, but ask for help and be strong.
“I have been suicidal and tried to kill myself three times by overdosing on pills because of what he did.”
Darciane, from northern Brazil, came to Britain on a tourist visa in 2020 and lived with her sister in Harpenden, Herts.
She had her first date with Carrick at a pub in King’s Cross, London, after

meeting on dating network Badoo. Darciane admits she was taken in by him, including his lie that he could speak Portuguese, and wrongly thought he was the “perfect man”.
But she said that, after two months, he suddenly became “very aggressive, violent and horrible”.
Through tears, she went on: “I became very afraid of him and his behaviour. I was only able to eat at the times he wanted me to eat.
“He would tell me I was fat and ugly and I needed to lose weight. He would say I couldn’t eat certain foods like eggs, which he said were disgusting.
“He would force me to go bed very early, sometimes at 5pm or 6pm. I would fake falling to sleep and after a while I started to realise that once he thought I was asleep he was watching pornographic videos on his phone and texting other girls.

“He tried to get me to watch the videos with him, but I refused. They were violent and aggressive.
“One showed a woman tied up in ropes. He wanted to recreate what he was watching.”
Darciane said Carrick, a firearms officer who served with the parliamentary and
command, forced her to let him use handcuffs and sex toys on her, despite her begging him not to.
She said: “He wanted to dominate me and for me to submit totally. When I was yelling and crying during sex he was happy, enjoying himself. The more I was upset, the more content he was. The sex was constantly aggressive.
“He told me ‘You are my property and I will do whatever I want with you. You are my sex slave’. Every time I tried to defy him he would punish
me afterwards. It was his way of trying to make me be obedient. It was like he had two personalities – one very good, one very bad. When it was good we would do things like go to the pub, hiking, to the park or out on bicycles. But we only did those things as compensation after something bad.
“He was always threatening me and telling me ‘I’m a policeman and I’m going to deport you if you don’t do what I want’. He would send me pictures of himself in uniform and when Boris Johnson caught Covid he told me he was on duty in front of his hospital door and made a video call showing me he was inside the hospital.
“He had also spoken about Boris Johnson before telling me he was in Downing Street guarding the house.”
Darciane finally left Carrick in July 2020 after a holiday to Barcelona, which she described as “five days of hell”.
In March 2021 she found the strength to go to police. But she says Carrick told her: “Be
careful, I know where you live.” And Darciane claims she received little support from police – even withdrawing her complaint before being asked to reconsider when a second victim came forward.
Darciane may now join legal action against the Met after the force missed a string of opportunities to stop Carrick – nicknamed “Bastard Dave” by colleagues, reportedly for being cruel and mean.
She said: “I hope no other woman will have to go through what I did with a police officer, but I don’t think I will be the last.”
Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley apologised to the victims after it emerged Carrick had come to the attention of fellow officers over nine incidents between 2000 and 2021.
Carrick will be sentenced by Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb at London’s Southwark Crown Court.
But Darciane will not be there. She added: “I don’t want to see or hear from David again. I have nothing to say to him, but I know I will never be able to forget him and what he did will affect me for the rest of my life.
“I hate him and what he did to me.”
