Michelle Rodriguez became the latest to try out FlyBoarding when she took off during a holiday in Ibiza on Wednesday.
The Fast and the Furious actress’s relationship with supermodel Cara Delevingne may have hit the rocks but she is having a blast on the Spanish island.
An onlooker said: “Michelle was having a great time. She was making shapes and flying in and out of the water. It was like watching some sort of waterborne wonder woman.”
Michelle, 36, seems to be over Cara, 21. Michelle was caught on camera in an Ibiza club locking lips with High School Musical hunk Zac Efron, 26, and they looked cosy heading for dinner yesterday.
They have been hanging out on a yacht with pop brat Justin Bieber, 20, fresh from his bust-up with Orlando Bloom on Wednesday. Michelle strapped on FlyBoard boots and was propelled into the air by water which blasts out of nozzles on the base of the board.
The water is supplied at high pressure via a 50ft hose attached to a jet-ski’s engine.
French former jet- ski world champion Franky Zapata’s invention has become a firm favourite with the rich and famous. Wolf of Wall Street star Leonardo DiCaprio, 39, tried FlyBoarding in Ibiza last year. One Direction singer Liam Payne, 20, had a go last week in the South of France. Hercules star Kellan Lutz, 29, is a highly skilled FlyBoarder. And 24-year-old Towie favourite Joey Essex tried one in Marbella.
Franky came up with the idea for the FlyBoard in his workshop in Le Rove, near Marseilles, three years ago. The French army even considered using them in warzones before the government granted a patent. The crown princes of Qatar and Dubai each own FlyBoards, which cost £2,500 each. They are now so popular that World Championships are held annually in Doha, Qatar.
