Enders star falls asleep on Baroness at awards... but doesn’t forget the goodie bags
AS awards party gaffes go, this one is dozy even by Danny Dyer’s standards.
The EastEnders star was snapped snoozing with his head on the shoulder of Baroness Sheila Noakes after overdoing his celebrations.
Danny, 38, caught his 40 winks on the peer – a Tory politician, deputy chair of Ofcom and Royal Bank of Scotland director – after scooping the Straight Ally gong.
The LGBT advocate told his fans in a tipsy tweet: “Probably the most important and poignant award I will ever award it my career massive love to the #lgbt community.”
And later the actor, who joined EastEnders as Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in December 2013, told guests at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms host Mel B had begged him to “get my b*****k out”.
Antics
Other antics captured on camera by his BBC co-star and pal Luisa Bradshaw-White – Tina Carter in the BBC soap – included him grinning with a lemon in his mouth and playing with his food at dinner.
Among the 500 other guests at the ceremony was Queen guitarist Brian May – who was also handed a Straight Ally award.
Danny had to be helped to his car by a burly security guard after Friday’s bash wrapped up in the early hours – but managed to keep a firm grip on his goodie bags.
The cockney star has a history of gaffes and manhandled Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry at the TV Choice awards last year.
Last month, he horrified Holly Willoughby by flashing one of his testicles to prove he has “massive balls” while filming an episode of ITV2’s Celebrity Juice. Holly was visibly shocked – as was teammate Zoe Ball, who said: “Oh my god.”
