PAIR IN CANNES WITH NEW LOVES
CHERYL Fernandez-Versini’s estranged husband is dating one of her old pals in a celebrity lovers merry-go-round.
French nightclub entrepreneur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has grown close to Vanessa Perroncel since splitting from the pop beauty.
Vanessa famously devastated soccer star Wayne Bridge by having an affair with his former Chelsea team-mate John Terry back in 2009.
The French lingerie model and Cheryl were close friends when the singer was married to Ashley Cole – at the time also a Chelsea player.
The two women and their partners holidayed together in the South of France. And Cheryl was among friends said to have supported Wayne after Vanessa’s fling emerged. The news that Vanessa is now seeing J-B will come as a shock to Cheryl, 32 – who has also found new love, with One Direction star Liam Payne, 22.
Vanessa, 39, who has a son with Wayne, was born in Bandol on the French Riviera. It is a few miles from Jean- Bernard’s home in Aix- en-Provence and close to the resorts of Cannes and St Tropez, where he does most of his business.
They are understood to have been introduced several weeks ago and immediately hit it off.
A source said: “They’re close. It’s fairly early days but there certainly seems to be something there. No doubt it will come as a surprise to Cheryl to learn his romance is with someone she knows. I don’t think she and Vanessa stayed friends but at one stage they were quite close.” Cheryl and Jean-Bernard, 35, are both in Cannes for the film festival. He runs his Cosy Box restaurant and bar there – and the town is where their relationship began. Former X Factor judge Cheryl has been enjoying the Cannes spotlight with Liam, living it up at some of the famous festival’s most glamorous events. She is on duty in Cannes for L’Oreal, the cosmetics firm for whom she is an ambassador and model. She and J-B will do “everything possible” to avoid their paths crossing, according to reports.
The pair split last December after 18 months of marriage. Lawyers are said to be wrangling over their divorce. A source said: “Hopefully it will be finalised soon and everyone will be able to get on with their lives.”
Wayne, 35, has also moved on. He married Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford in 2014 and they have two children.
When she leaves Cannes, Cheryl is expected to focus on her music after quitting as a judge on The X Factor.
