King’s brain op LEICESTER FAN SAM SINGS HE HIRES CASTLE FOR DAY

- By Simon Boyle

SURGEONS drained fluid pressing on the brain of ailing King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, 88. He took the throne in 1946. ENGLAND football star Jamie Vardy has celebrated his leap to fame by hiring an X Factor winner to sing at his wedding.

The Leicester City goal-machine has asked Sam Bailey – a fan of the Premier League’s shock champions – to entertain his guests this Wednesday.

Rapper Tinchy Stryder, who is understood to be a favourite of Jamie, 29, will also perform after the player ties the knot with Becky Nicholson.

An insider revealed: “Sam is a big Leicester supporter and was honoured to be asked. She’s providing the more traditional wedding entertainment, singing ballads, love songs, the sort of things you’d expect. “But they were keen to add something different and Tinchy is going to bring that extra twist. He’s not known for the sort of music you’d usually get at a wedding – but it will certainly be unique.” Former nonl eague player Jamie scored 24 goals for The Foxes during their sensational season, catapulting him into contention for Roy Hodgson’s England team at the European Championships in June.

That possibility forced him and Becky, 34, to bring their wedding forward.

He has explained: “I was due to marry bang on the start of the Euros. We moved it just to be on the safe side after my first England call-up. It was a weekend, now it’s a midweek.”

He and Becky, who have a year-old daughter, Sofia, booked Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, a popular venue with footie stars, for the big day.

Guests will include Jamie’s Leicester City teammates. Becky will walk down the aisle in a dress by Knightsbridgebased Caroline Castigliano, whose gowns range from £4,000 to £7,000.

Jamie, who bagged the Football Writers Association Footballer of the Year award last week, has chosen his best pal and former Leicester teammate David Nugent as best man.

At one point Jamie feared that David, 31, might not make it.

He now plays for Middlesbrough in the Championship and looked like being tied up in this month’s play- offs for promotion to the Premier League.

Luckily Middlesbrough finished second and will automatically go up. A source said: “That was a relief.”

Former prison officer Sam, 38, won The X Factor in 2013 and had a Christmas number one with Skyscraper the same year.
