Carl’s road to a million
A ROAD worker who scooped £ 1million on a 5 lottery scratchcard has promised to go back to work but says he won’t do any overtime.
Carl Crook, 25, won the jackpot during a lunch break in Manchester city centre.
The civil engineering worker was carrying out upgrades on Oxford Road when he popped into a local shop to buy a drink and a scratch card.
The father of two from Rochdale, Lancs, said: “I just screamed ‘Yes’ at the top of my voice. I had so much joy and excitement, I was crying.”
Carl, who does 12-hour shifts, added: “I do enjoy my job and the people I work with.
“I will be staying on but without overtime.”
