Olympian ‘ rape’ clear

INDIA’S top hockey player has been cleared of sexually assaulting a British woman he met at the 2012 London Olympics.

National team captain Sardar Singh, 29, was also alleged to have physically and mentally tortured the woman over a two- year period.

But police in Ludhiana, near New Delhi, dismissed the case. They said there was no proof the couple stayed overnight at Bhaini Sahib where the rape allegedly took place.
