Taking flight from quick fix

-

I’M not the best flyer these days so when my departure from Glasgow to London was delayed to check a technical fault I was quite pleased they were exercising caution. The engineers came on and were fiddling about. The captain was confident we would be on our way shortly. All well and good, I kept the butterflies under control. But I really started to worry when they announced they were going to switch the engines off and then switch them on again to see if that worked. That’s OK on your computer printer, mate, but not on the flying metal tube.
