Lions buck trend

JOHN BERYLSON aims to turn the tide for US-owned clubs – and see his Millwall side yank themselves out of League One.

Randy Lerner has sold relegated Aston Villa, while Manchester United and Liverpool missed out on the Champions League.

But ahead of today’s play-off final against Barnsley, Lions chairman Berylson (above) said: “I can’t keep putting in enormous sums of money.

“If we do go up we’ll do so with a young, resurgent team not an ageing one, so I think we’ll do well.”
