DEPP DOGFIGHT
Bid to keep both pooches
JOHNNY Depp is facing a bitter court scrap to stop Amber Heard splitting up dogs Pistol and Boo in their £300million divorce.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, 52, is said to want to keep both pooches but Heard, 30, has filed papers saying she wants one of the Yorkshire terriers – believed to be Pistol.
The actress was given Pistol by her ex-girlfriend Tasya van Ree. It is not known who bought Boo.
A source said: “Johnny adores both dogs. He wants them to be happy and finds it unbelievable she is suggesting dividing them. Money means nothing when it comes to those animals. They’re effectively treated as their kids. For Johnny, this is war. He’ll stop at nothing to have Pistol and Boo with him.”
In California, judges usually come down on the side of ownership. A legal source said Heard will have a strong case.
Feared
Both stars dote on the dogs and were rapped by Australian authorities after trying to dodge quarantine laws last year. Heard admitted falsifying immigration papers and they were mocked after a bizarre video apology in April.
Meanwhile, Heard reportedly filed a defamation suit on Friday against Depp’s pal Doug Stanhope and others. In an article published online the comic, 49, branded her “a liar” over claims that Depp had abused her.
He claimed she was the abusive one and he had “watched her manipulate” Depp for years. Stanhope also claimed she is trying to blackmail the star.
Heard says his allegations are false and her papers include claims Depp had “hit and kicked Heard, thrown objects... and at one point suffocated her to the point where she feared for her life”.
Depp’s team denies all claims and says she is after a “premature” settlement.
