DANNY TIRES Enders star Dyer’s sleepless night before wedding

- By Simon Boyle SHOWBIZ EDITOR

EASTENDERS bad boy Danny Dyer finally came good yesterday when he married his childhood sweetheart at a luxury country manor.

He was up until 3am before tying the knot. But he wasn’t boozing with his mates... He had problems sleeping and so passed the time chatting online to fans.

The 39-year-old actor, who plays Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in the soap, was on social media at 3.31am yesterday, saying he was counting sheep as he struggled to sleep.

He had spent his final evening as a bachelor with friends and family at the luxurious Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa in New Milton, Hampshire, before eventually getting some shut-eye.

Danny and long-term girlfriend Joanne Mas were joined by 150 guests, including 27 of Danny’s Albert Square co-stars.

The Mitchell brothers, played by Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden, are understood to have been on the guest list.

The star’s best mates, actor Tamer Hassan and reality star Kirk Norcross, are also believed to have joined their pal for the ceremony – along- side the couple’s three children Dani, Sunnie and Arty as bridesmaids and a page boy.

Movie hardman Ray Winstone, 59, was invited, as were rockers Kasabian and former X Factor winner Sam Bailey, 39.

But at 2am yesterday, the exasperated actor wrote: “Sleep. It just don’t wanna know tonight. It’s being right tricky.”

After months of preparation, fiancée Jo, 39, only told Danny about the venue a week ago so that details of their big day didn’t slip out.

Stunning

The five-star hotel is set in 130 acres in the heart of the Hampshire countryside, on the edge of the New Forest and near the sea.

On Friday, Danny’s family had enjoyed a relaxing day at the stunning venue, with his daughter Dani posting photos of herself at the spa with friends.

Yesterday morning she added a photo of mum Joanne wearing a “Bride” dressing gown and captioned it: “So happy for them both!!! have the best day all of you!!”

The couple are said to have adopted a claret and blue colour scheme for the big event, in honour of Danny’s beloved West Ham United.

And it’s believed the day was also given a Spanish theme to reflect Jo’s Spanish heritage. Flamenco dancers performed, with jugs of sangria on offer. They also splashed out on a three- course meal complete with East End treats including pie and mash, egg and chips and jellied eels.

Danny is said to have modelled his suit on Sean Connery as James Bond, while Jo managed

to keep her dress a secret after the couple l anded a six- figure sum for a magazine deal. They had vowed to make their reception “the party of the year” and an insider said: “This wedding was never going to disappoint.

“They both love a good time, as do all of their friends, so it’s a proper knees-up.

“With 150 close friends and family, and many of them as keen on a party as Danny is, this was never going to be a quiet affair.”

Drama

Mum-of-three Sam Bailey, who won The X Factor in 2013, provided entertainment, singing her hit Skyscraper. Danny and Jo, together since they were 15, decided to finally marry after Jo proposed last year. Speaking previously about the do, she joked: “There will be a Gipsy Kings-type band, flamenco dancers, tapas, paella and sangria. I am still working on Julio Iglesias!” The couple enjoyed a joint stag and hen party at V Festival in Essex two weeks ago but, sadly, that ended in drama when Danny clashed with some friends of reality TV star Mark Wright.
