Sarah’s reddy for a change

- By Simon Boyle

SARAH Harding is planning to move back to the North for a “fresh start” closer to her mum, after producers decided not to renew her contract for Ghost the Musical. The former Girls Aloud star, 34, recently hit back at allegations of “shambolic” performances as leading lady Molly on the tour, and vowed to prove her doubters wrong. But bosses, who included in her contract an option for further shows, have opted to end her stint at the end of the musical’s current run. Sources said she now plans to sell up her home in Buckinghamshire and move to Manchester, where she last year made headlines in a red latex catsuit while performing at Pride festival. One source said: “The producers had an option to continue the run further and extend Sarah’s contract, and had hoped it could be a long-running show, but have now decided against it. With that in mind, she’s decided she’s ready for a fresh start after all the recent controversy and pressure of constant scrutiny.

“She has told friends she plans to move up north near to her mum and start again, hopefully taking some time out to get back to music, which is what she really loves.”

Ghost the Musical has been dogged by poor reviews and no- shows from the star, who appeared to be struggling.

But Sarah slammed reports accusing her of “slurring and stumbling” on stage, claiming in an online statement she had been in “constant pain” during performances since injuring herself on Channel 4 show The Jump.

She returned to the show after missing several appearances due to illness, but later left at half-time during one performance.

Sarah is no stranger to controversy, having previously checked into rehab following a break-up. She later explained it was for alcohol dependence and depression.
