Dolberg’s new goal

- By Neil Moxley

And after United left the white- hot Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Thursday night, f ormer Sunderland boss Advocaat, now in charge of the Turks, revealed he laid a carefully planned trap for Ibrahimovich – who took the bait... hook, line and sinker.

Laughed the Dutchman: “We had to provoke them a little bit because what their players like him and Wayne Rooney like is to get space and time to play.

“So you have to irritate them MANCHESTER UNITED have stepped up their interest in Danish wonderkid Kasper Dolberg.

The 19-year-old Ajax striker – dubbed ‘the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ – was the subject of representation from Old Trafford at the highest level in midweek. Red Devils’ boss Jose Mourinho detailed head of global scouting Marcel Bout to watch Dolberg in action.

And the youngster did not disappoint, as he found the net in Ajax’s 3-2 victory over Celta Vigo.

Ibrahimovich was handed multiple roles by Mourinho when he signed his former Inter Milan star after the veteran hitman left Paris Saint-Germain.

Aside from front- line l e a d e r s h i p , charismatic dressing-room presence and a supply of goals, he was given the task of bringing on attacking young stars such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.

But after f l i pping at Fenerbahce, Ibrahimovich is fighting his own personal demons just when United need him most.

Yet Advocaat maintains: “I have no doubts that Jose will get it right, he just needs time. You can see how many prizes he has won in his life at the different clubs.”
